Senior Law Librarian / Research Attorney | $150–170/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced Senior Law Librarians and Research Attorneys to help design complex, high-quality legal research questions for an AI evaluation benchmark. This is an excellent opportunity for seasoned legal research professionals who regularly handle escalated or cross-jurisdictional inquiries and excel at framing nuanced legal problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft sophisticated legal research questions that reflect complex, firm-level inquiries
• Design research issues requiring multi-jurisdictional analysis, conflicting authority resolution, and deep precedent synthesis
• Ensure all questions are grounded in identifiable, authoritative legal sources
• Maintain clarity, realism, and practical scope throughout all deliverables

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a law librarian, research attorney, or senior legal research specialist
• Extensive experience handling complex or escalated research requests
• Strong understanding of legal research methodologies
• Exceptional issue-framing and writing skills

Nice to Have

• Experience training associates on legal research techniques
• Exposure to AI tools in legal research workflows
• Prior dataset annotation or benchmark development experience
