Software Development Engineer in Test I | $60–80/hr | Menlo Park, CA

Join the Product Quality Experience (PQX) organization at a major social media platform as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). In this role, you'll be instrumental in delivering high-quality software by building and executing automated testing across multiple products and platforms. This is a structured, full-time W-2 engagement administered by Cincinnatus, embedded directly within the client's engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated test frameworks and tools to address test coverage gaps
  • Manage contingent engineers on the team to ensure high output and quality standards
  • Partner with infrastructure and product engineering teams to fully enable automated testing
  • Independently drive project goals — tracking status, escalating risks, and resolving obstacles
  • Champion a culture of quality within PQX by advocating for best practices and quickly escalating issues
  • Design and implement automated tests to verify release readiness and overall product quality

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience developing and analyzing automated test frameworks and infrastructure
  • 2+ years of hands-on coding experience in Python, PHP, Java, C/C++, or an equivalent language, including code maintenance and review
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience building automation strategies and estimating test efforts
  • 2+ years of experience planning, tracking, and controlling test environments and data
  • Experience writing test automation code for complex multi-system scenarios
  • Familiarity with automation testing types: Unit, Functional, Load, Security, Behavioral, Integration, Component, Contract, and End-to-End
  • Experience reviewing QA procedures and driving efficiency improvements
