About the role

Mercor is hiring civil engineers and architects to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real design and drafting workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve AI models. This is part-time contract work with an immediate start preferred.

What you'll do

• Complete and narrate real civil engineering and architectural tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data for advanced AI models
• Clearly explain your design decisions while you work
• Follow clearly structured responsibilities without the high pressure typically found in internships or full-time consulting roles

Requirements

• You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Proficiency with Mac-compatible tools such as AutoCAD for Mac, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp, or Rhino; experience with structural, site, or building design is a plus
• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or 2-3 years of relevant experience plus a Bachelors from a prestigious institution
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay and schedule

• $50-60/hr
• Part-time, approximately 10-20 hours per week
