Position Overview

We are seeking a Market Analyst to join the Institute of Free Technology (IFT). In this role, you will analyze market trends, monitor competitors, and provide in-depth insights to guide strategic decisions across the IFT portfolio. Your work will involve producing data-driven recommendations that help optimize our products and market strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver regular reports and updates that inform IFT strategy and portfolio management.
  • Forecast valuations of portfolio companies, focusing on mid-term horizons.
  • Perform risk assessments and probability analyses to identify actionable insights and opportunities.
  • Stay informed on web3 trends and developments, and assess their impact on the IFT portfolio.
  • Independently conduct analyses related to market validation and opportunity sizing.
  • Analyze competitors’ strategies, market performance, and technological developments to provide competitive advantage assessments and market positioning recommendations.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Market Analyst or in a similar role, preferably within the web3 industry.
  • Strong mathematical, numerical, and statistical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large data sets.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics and SQL.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories through data.
  • Proven track record of success working on cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity to achieve impactful results.

Bonus Points

  • Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously.
  • Experience with open-source organizations.
