Senior Software Engineer – Open Source Expert
$100–$210/hr | Remote Hourly Contract

Mercor is actively seeking experienced Senior Software Engineers with a passion for modern software development and substantial experience in open-source projects. You will play a crucial role in contributing to frontier AI models at a premier AI research lab.
You have:
Deep technical expertise in at least one of the following languages: Rust, Ruby, Go, C++, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python, or C.
3+ years of professional industry experience working extensively with one or more of these languages.
Alternatively, significant contributions to complex, large-scale open-source projects.
Availability to commit at least 10 hours per week.
Engage directly with open-source repositories, contributing high-quality, maintainable code.
Collaborate asynchronously with a globally distributed team.
Ensure your contributions align with the strategic goals of frontier AI model development.
