Staff Software Engineer, Mobile (Android/Kotlin) | $40–60/hr | Remote in US | Full Time (W-2)
Join a product engineering team building native mobile and full-stack experiences used by customers every day. You'll be placed within a leading enterprise client's engineering organization, owning features end to end across Android, backend services, and APIs — with AI coding tools as a standard part of your workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship features for native mobile apps, primarily Android using Kotlin and Jetpack.
- Contribute across backend services, APIs, and web applications when needed.
- Leverage AI-powered developer tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate delivery and maintain quality.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews, and production support.
- Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and partner engineering teams, and mentor fellow engineers.
Core Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on native mobile development experience — Android with Kotlin preferred; iOS/Swift, Flutter, or React Native also considered with native exposure.
- Production experience outside mobile: backend services, APIs, or web applications.
- Strong engineering fundamentals: system design, testing, and debugging.
- Comfortable using AI coding tools in a professional setting.
- Available for a reliable 40 hours/week commitment during weekdays.
- Clear communicator with a collaborative and curious mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with LLM-powered features such as RAG, embeddings, or agents.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards.
- Background working on apps involving accounts, payments, or order management.
