High School STEM Teacher (Math & Sciences)

Job Type: Hourly Contract (Remote)

Compensation: $40 per hour (USD)

Location: Remote (U.S.-based, licensed teachers only)

About the Role:
Mercor is seeking experienced, licensed U.S. high school teachers in STEM fields to contribute to a premier AI pilot project with a world-leading research lab. Your classroom expertise and instructional insights will help shape large language models that better reflect the skills, rigor, and methods of expert educators.

Please note: Only active or recently transitioned classroom teachers will be considered. Personal tutors are not eligible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Share subject expertise and pedagogical strategies for teaching STEM (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Engineering).

  • Design, review, and articulate rigorous, standards-aligned instruction for high school learners.

  • Collaborate remotely with AI research teams to improve educational AI models.

  • Clearly explain your teaching thought process, classroom practices, and assessment approaches.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Licensed high school teacher in the United States.

  • Minimum 3 years of full-time classroom teaching experience.

  • Master’s degree or higher in education or a STEM subject.

  • Current or recent experience teaching STEM courses at the high school level.

  • Experience in curriculum development, assessment creation, or instructional coaching is a plus.

  • Strong written communication skills and passion for education and innovation.

Role Highlights:

  • Flexible, part-time role: 10–20 hours per week (potential to expand to 40 hours).

  • Fully remote and asynchronous—ideal for summer or alongside regular teaching.

  • Rolling start dates, beginning mid-July.

Compensation & Legal Details:

  • Independent Contractor position.

  • Weekly payments via Stripe Connect.
