Multilingual Transportation Expert | $20–40/hr | Worldwide Remote
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to improve transportation reasoning in advanced language models. We're seeking experienced transportation professionals who are fluent in one or more of the following languages: Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic, Thai, Tamil, or Hindi. This is not a translation role — candidates must have real-world professional experience working within their linguistic and cultural transportation context.
Key Responsibilities
- Author realistic transportation prompts covering urban transit planning, traffic engineering, rail and aviation systems, maritime logistics, supply chain coordination, and infrastructure development
- Review and revise AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, regulatory alignment, feasibility, and clarity
- Write high-quality, human-authored "gold" responses for complex transportation planning and operational scenarios
- Create controlled prompt variations that test differences in regulatory environments, geographic constraints, safety requirements, and system design assumptions
- Evaluate AI outputs across multiple tones — technical, policy-oriented, operational, and explanatory
- Identify model failure cases involving unrealistic system design, regulatory misinterpretation, or flawed logistical reasoning
Ideal Qualifications
- Degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 2+ years of professional experience in transportation planning, infrastructure development, logistics operations, traffic engineering, or transit systems
- Professional fluency in at least one of the listed target languages, with active familiarity with that region's transportation systems
- Strong understanding of local infrastructure standards, safety regulations, and operational practices within your linguistic and cultural context
- Excellent analytical and written communication skills in your target language
Commitment & Compensation
- Rate: $20–$40/hr depending on experience
- Hours: 10–40 hours per week, flexible scheduling
- Type: Contract, fully remote
