Mercor is seeking an engineer with deep expertise in healthcare technology to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions for API-driven healthcare scenarios. Use your experience with EHR systems, clinical data integrations, and patient service tools to help train AI models for real-world medical, informatics, and care delivery use cases.
Write and review API prompts and responses based on real healthcare operations and clinical workflows
Address technical use cases such as EHR integrations, secure data exchange, imaging platforms, patient portals, and care automation
Ensure prompts capture compliance, data privacy, healthcare interoperability, and regulatory standards (FHIR, HL7, DICOM)
Evaluate LLM-generated outputs for accuracy and effectiveness in healthcare settings
Collaborate asynchronously with other engineers and product teams to refine evaluation standards
3+ years as a software, systems, or integration engineer in the healthcare sector
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Based in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand
Experience with systems like electronic health records (EHR), medical imaging, or patient digital services
Hands-on with data validation, secure clinical system maintenance, and technical documentation
Clear communicator with strong attention to detail in technical writing
Fully remote and asynchronous; flexible with your schedule
10-20 hours per week, with potential to expand up to 40 hours per week
Initial project duration: 1-2 months, with possible extension
Start: mid to late August, rolling applications
AI interview on healthcare systems, integration, and documentation
Screen-sharing prompt creation on clinical/healthcare use cases (desktop/laptop required)
LLM output evaluation for technical accuracy and healthcare relevance
Selection based on technical performance and evaluation quality
