Role Overview

As an Applied AI Engineer at Mercor, you’ll play a pivotal role intersecting machine learning research, product engineering, and client success. Your responsibilities include:

• Refining human-generated datasets into actionable, model-ready signals.

• Translating real-world insights into impactful product and infrastructure enhancements.

• Building tooling and prototypes to strengthen feedback loops between Ops and Engineering teams, maximizing customer value.

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong experience with React, Next.js, and Python.

• Expertise designing database schemas (SQL and NoSQL).

• Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).

• Proven experience deploying machine learning models (including LLMs) into production environments.

• Experience integrating various systems including recruitment platforms, CRMs, payment gateways, and data warehouses.

• Startup experience, ideally as a founder or early employee.

• Interest in evaluations, benchmarks, and annotation tools.

• Exceptional attention to detail and continuous eagerness to learn.

Compensation

• Competitive base salary: $40K-$100K annually
