Psychology/Mental Health AI Specialist | $35–50/hr | Remote Worldwide
Mercor is recruiting Generalists (Bachelor's degree minimum) and Specialists (Psychology, Psychiatry, Mental Health, or Counseling backgrounds) for an urgent, high-impact project with a leading AI research lab. You'll evaluate and refine AI-generated therapeutic conversations, helping build safer, more empathetic mental health AI systems.
⚠️ Immediate Start Required: This accelerated project requires 6-7 hours of work completed by Thursday EOD, following a mandatory Wednesday morning onboarding session (EST).
What You'll Do
- Assess pairs of AI-generated responses for empathy, therapeutic accuracy, and emotional insight
- Compare model outputs and identify which responses demonstrate better therapeutic communication
- Provide improved rewrites when needed to enhance dialogue quality
- Support research teams refining human-aligned AI for mental-health contexts
Generalist Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (any field)
- Strong written communication and analytical abilities
- Ability to follow structured evaluation criteria consistently
- Interest in psychology, counseling, human communication, or AI safety
Specialist Requirements
- Background in Psychology, Psychiatry, Mental Health, Counseling, or related fields
- Deep understanding of therapeutic communication and reflective techniques
- Ability to assess emotional nuance and relational quality in sensitive dialogue
- Strong attention to detail when evaluating mental health content
Required for All Candidates
