About the Role:
Mercor is supporting a top AI lab in the development of safe, capable virtual assistant systems for web-based environments. We are hiring Task Design Contributors to craft high-quality, structured tasks and realistic user workflows for simulated virtual assistant environments. You’ll help define how AI agents interact with synthetic versions of common web platforms, ensuring tasks are both plausible and representative of real-world usage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and analyze descriptions of simulated web apps to determine what realistic content might appear

• Create clear, plausible tasks for virtual assistants to perform in those environments

• Follow structured guidelines to guarantee quality and avoid invalid or ambiguous cases

Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier U.S. university

• Excellent written communication and scenario design skills

• Familiarity with popular web platforms

• Able to follow detailed instructions and work independently

Role Details:

• Remote, asynchronous work—20 hours per week commitment expected

• Position is structured with clear performance expectations

• Weekly payment via Stripe Connect as an hourly contractor
